We have all heard the saying that “music is good for the soul.” It is undoubtedly true but there is also something extra powerful about experiencing music live. Sitting at home and listening to your Spotify playlist is nice. Going out, seeing, and experiencing live music is on another level though.
This is even more true when it comes to planning the perfect date night.
Taking your date to a live music venue is a great way to up the romance. Live music has a way of creating the perfect ambience and usually makes for a more enjoyable evening.
Finding a good live music venue for your next date night shouldn’t be hard but there are a few things to consider.
When you first think live music, you probably imagine a large concert hall. Concert venues are a great option if you want to see a popular musician or group. They are a great place to experience the energy of a live performance, along with hundreds, if not thousands, of other fans.
Here in Brooklyn, we have a number of really great venues that host weekly and monthly live music concerts. A few highlights include the Music Hall of Williamsburg, Kings Theatre, the Barclays Center, and the Prospect Park Bandshell.
The downside of concert venues is that there is not a lot of privacy and rarely a sense of intimacy. Seeing a live music concert can be a great date night option but don’t plan on talking to your date much over the loud music.
Another thing to consider is food. Large concert venues rarely have much in the way of food options. If you are planning a date night, consider making a dinner reservation before or after the show. For example, at Atlas Steakhouse, we often have guests join us for dinner before seeing a show at the nearby Kings Theatre.
Restaurants and Bars
Speaking of dinner, restaurants are also a great place to enjoy some live music. Unlike a concert venue, at a restaurant you can enjoy a more intimate ambience, along with great food. Bars often have live music as well, in a smaller, more intimate setting.
Choosing a restaurant, in particular, is a great way to enjoy the perfect combination of live music, great food, and a relaxing ambience.
At Atlas Steakhouse, we provide live music nights for our guests four nights each week. Along with the live music, the restaurant offers a great ambience, amazing food, a full bar, and excellent service.
Our weekly music schedule includes - live saxophone on Thursday & Friday nights, live piano on Saturday nights, and on Sunday nights we have live guitar music.
If you would like to join us for one of our live music nights, you can call to make a reservation at 646-494-7227. Alternatively, if you are planning on seeing a live show at one of Brooklyn’s great concert venues, we welcome you to join us for dinner before your show.
